Abdominal Ultrasound
A thorough screening of all abdominal organs, major vessels, and any abnormal structures. All scans include a specialist interpretation report with diagnostic and treatment recommendations which will be delivered to you by your veterinarian.
Echocardiogram
A complete survey of the heart and associated vessels to screen for congenital disease, degenerative conditions, neoplasia, and other diseases. A specialist report with findings and treatment recommendations will be delivered to you by your veterinarian.
Ultrasound-Guided Aspirations
Critical to a final diagnosis in many conditions, a fine-needle aspirate is a safe, minimally invasive option to create cytology samples of fluids, organ samples, and tumor samples. When we see abnormalities, we highly recommend sampling them to diagnose and get treatment guidance.
Abdominal ultrasounds, echocardiograms, thoracic ultrasounds, and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirations are our most commonly requested services. Pregnancy scans, pericardiocentesis, thyroid scans, and other services are available upon request. Additional services can be added on during the procedure on a case-by-case basis to meet individual pet's needs.
About
Julia Bakker, DVM
Dr. Bakker has made veterinary sonography her life's work. It is her goal to make all scans more readily available and accessible to veterinary practices. Prior to scanning full time, she worked as a general practitioner (dogs, cats, wildlife, exotic pets) in both Medical Director and Associate positions with an emphasis on internal medicine, critical care, geriatrics, and surgery. Her experience allows her to provide practical and helpful insights into patient care.
She graduated from the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine co 2019 and then sought out special interest education through multiple programs before committing to the Sonopath SDEP certifications and protocols.
She is happy to be able to serve animals and hospitals in her home town and looks forward to assisting you!
